BEC Busier Than Ever
CBS-5 - Loveland, CO - March 01, 2012
The multi-purpose arena on campus of The Ranch will be the site for hockey, football, basketball, a concert, a high school tournament and Disney on Ice all within the third month of the year.
The venue, managed by Global Spectrum, has consistently been the site for diverse and eclectic events since opening doors in September 2003. However, it seems as if the arena's calendar is only gaining occupancy; in addition to the most eventful month in history, 2011 was a record setting year for events and revenue.
"Thanks to the residents of Northern Colorado we have been able to start 2012 just as strong as we finished 2011. Already in 2012 we have seen the first live tour from Mythbusters, another great week from Cirque du Soleil and now being able to host 27 large events in a single month is really a testament to the people that live in this region. It proves what an active community we have and our staff could not be anymore thrilled to help bring in the quality entertainment desired," said Rick Hontz, General Manger of Budweiser Events Center & Regional Vice-President for Global Spectrum in a press release this morning.
By The Numbers: (Breakdown of Events):
- 9 Colorado Eagles Hockey Games
- 7 Disney on Ice Performances
- 6 CHSAA Basketball Sessions
- 3 Colorado Ice Indoor Football Games
- 1 Harlem Globetrotters Game
- 1 Trans-Siberian Orchestra Concert
The former record for ticketed events in single month was previously set in March of 2006, when Budweiser Events Center was the site for 23 events.
